Richard advises Pine Ridge Holdings in the areas of healthcare and business services. Richard has executed over 115 acquisitions through a series of consolidation strategies and has more than 35 years of experience as a Founder, CEO, and Board Member of several public and private companies. He is currently the Founder and Executive Chairman of ExamWorks, a company he established and grew into the largest national provider of IME services. Richard took ExamWorks public in 2010, and recently sold the company to Leonard Green and Partners for $2.2B. Prior to founding ExamWorks, Richard was involved in the acquisition and operations of several companies. Notable examples include PracticeWorks, acquired by Kodak for $500M, Rightcare Solutions, which was acquired by Cardinal Health, TurboChef, which was acquired by The Middely Corporation, and InfoCure which was sold in two transactions to Cerner and Merge Technologies. Mr. Perlman has substantial experience as the CEO and Principal of a number of successful companies, and he is focused on providing unique advice and mentorship to any company in which Pine Ridge invests.
Richard received a MBA from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business and a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Karlin advises Pine Ridge Holdings in the area of healthcare services. He has over 24 years of experience as the Founder and CEO of two healthcare companies which he built from sub-scale players into major national organizations. Prior to working with Pine Ridge, Barry was the Founder, Chairman and CEO of CRC Health Group, the largest specialized behavioral healthcare treatment provider in the nation with 140 facilities and over 30,000 daily patients. While leading CRC, he completed 28 add-on acquisitions and established the company as a market leader in the treatment of substance abuse, troubled youth, and eating disorders. Barry led CRC in partnership with Bain Capital, who sold the Company to Acadia Healthcare for $1.2B in 2014. Dr. Karlin was also the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Prospira Paincare, a physician based roll-up of pain management practices. Barry has deep expertise in healthcare services and consolidation strategies, and would look to grow any Pine Ridge investment through dedicated leadership and operational support.
Barry received his Ph.D. and M.S. from Stanford University in the Department of Engineering-Economic-Systems and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa.
